This year’s May Festival was a great success as was the North Brookfield Elementary School’s TREP$ Marketplace held at the Congregational Church.  Under cloudless skies a steady stream of visitors enjoyed acoustic music and shopped for artisan bread, jams and jellies, perennials and annual potted and hanging plants, vegetable plants, handmade soaps, and other items.  Cindy Thompson of the North Brookfield Board of Health handed out free composting kits as well as kitchen composting bins.  The NB Cultural Council’s annual plant swap was as popular as ever.  Festival participants generously donated door prizes such as gift certificates, maple syrup, and a spectacular hanging basket of annuals.

The young entrepreneurs of the TREP$ Marketplace offered a wide range of items including birdhouses, walking sticks, fresh cut flowers, jewelry, and many unusual and creative craft items.

Many thanks to all who participated!
