A day-long Red Cross babysitting course will take place at the Haston Public Library on Tuesday of the school vacation week, April 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The program will be presented by Linda Freeman, an American Red Cross instructor.  The program is for young people eleven years old and up, and a fee of $25 will be required at the time of registration.

 Skills that will be covered in the class include responsibility, seriousness and babysitting as a business; playing and discipline; first aid, dangerous situations, being alert, dealing with allergic reactions, asthma, bleeding and choking. All who complete the course will receive a certificate, a First Aid reference booklet and a Red Cross CD.

Participants may bring drinks and snacks to have during the program, and the library will provide pizzas for lunch.
