In May 2006 North Brookfield voters approved additional funding for the library renovation and expansion project which had been awarded a $1.26 million state library construction grant in 2001.

J. Stewart Roberts Associates was the architect for the project, Dore and Whittier of Burlington, VT provided project management services, and Aquadro and Cerruti of Northampton was the general contractor.

Library staff, Friends, and other volunteers packed during June and in early July the library moved to temporary quarters at Lane’s Garage.  Construction began the following week.
